CSC/TC to begin online registration
in September 2000

An editorial by R. Ronald Sokol, C.S.P., CSC/TC General Manager

In July's issue of "The Informer", we discussed CSC/TC's coming online with an exciting interactive website designed to bring our members up-to-the-minute information on virtually everything that happens at the safety council: course schedules, calendar of events, meeting updates, e-safety booklets and even a practice test will be part of this new venture.

Another aspect of our Web site will be a link to the "Industrial Services Networld" or ISN.  ISN has been developed by our software consultant Allen-Tate Commercial Software - an EarthCare Company. The ISN internet based community serves safety councils, contractors, petrochemical owners, regulatory agencies and suppliers to exchange information and improve efficiency in operations.  This online community will help CSC/TC to better serve its User Companies, Contractors and ultimately, the contract worker.  ISN will eventually feature eight (8) service modules:

1. Safety Council online services
2. Contractor online services
3. Plant and refinery online services
4. Supplier online services
5. Agency and group online services
6. Regulatory online services
7. Health online services
8. E-waste management online services

Our contractors will be able to pick and choose which modules best serve their needs and incorporate them into their daily operations.  As a service to its membership, CSC/TC has made an arrangement with Allen-Tate Commercial Software to allow our active members to utilize the ISN for employee online registration at NO COST to our membership.  All other modules are available through Allen-Tate if requested.

In order to utilize this service, the contractor must be a member in good standing which means that your membership is current and you didn't

have any outstanding invoices.  By using the ISN, contractors will be able to accomplish:

1. Internet online registration
2. Access training history
3. Online course information
    a. Status
    b. Costs
4. Access online trainee training status

This service will begin in September 2000.

There are only three steps necessary to begin the online registration process:

1. You must have an internet service       provider.
2. You must be a member in good standing.
3.You must contact us with your e-mail address (CSC/TC has a strict policy concerning your privacy rights that can be read through its Web site's home page).

We, in turn, will provide this information to Allen-Tate, who will provide each contractor with a unique password code.  Allen-Tate has assigned Mr. Jack Richards, formerly the procurement manager for Sterling Chemicals in Texas City, to be our executive sales consultant. Mr. Richards understands the link between the safety council, the contractor and the user companies and will be a great benefit to all of us in getting this process up and running. Once the online registration is operational, additional modules will be available from Allen-Tate for contractors to use upon request.  The fastest way to access the Employee Online Registration Module will be through the ISN link (accessed by clicking on the blue icon located on the left side of this site).

We hope this service will add value to our contractors and user companies and improve our efficiency at CSC/TC.  I would appreciate your comments and suggestions: call (409) 948-9009, ext. 102 or email me at rrsokol@csctc.org.

Sincerely,
R. Ronald Sokol, C.S.P.
