 The CSC/TC's "What Were You Thinking?" Award LOSERS Are . . .
Gawkers who have to see with their own eyes the after effects of tragic accidents and/or natural disasters and who, in so doing, impede the progress of rescue crews and emergency vehicles. Prom and Graduation participants who feel that special events give them special rights to behave badly (and sometimes illegally) without accountability. Shoppers who leave animals and small children in locked vehicles during hot weather - or at any other time, for that matter - and believe that a locked door will keep them safe for a few minutes.
Workers who would rather LIVE their lives for safety than GIVE their lives for safety. Think about it. The thousands of emergency volunteers everywhere who show up wherever they’re needed to do whatever they can to help people in danger. People who understand that liquor, firearms, pharmaceutical products, and vehicles are lethal weapons and should be used carefully - or, in some cases - not at all. The Good Samaritans among us who remember that we are our brothers’ keepers. |
