Spring 2001
CSC/TC
continued to be active in the ARSC organization. The ARSC "Common
Card" was being utilized by Safety Councils in Houston, Baton Rouge,
Nederland and Port Lavaca. CSC/TC User Advisory Group approved use of the
ARSC "Common Card" for our facilities and the CSC/TC Board
approved up to $12,000 to fund the project. CSC/TC began working with ARSC
Safety Councils to develop the network capabilities to share data
necessary to utilize the ARSC "Common Card". CSC/TC was
successful in the satisfactory completion of the ARSC audit required by
ARSC to maintain ARSC membership. The audit was conducted on April 10,
2001 with no significant findings. The ARSC audit, required every two (2)
years by ARSC, ensures program integrity, security and quality of
instruction at all ARSC Safety Councils involved in reciprocity. ARSC
Curriculum Committee agreed to add an additional component to the ARSC
program curriculum covering heat stress. This module will be included in
the next program update.
CSC/TC
Board activities in the spring 2001 included the approval of a 401(K) plan
for full-time employees. A restricted/unrestricted asset plan was
developed and will be presented to the Executive Policy Committee (EPC) at
the annual meeting between the CSC/TC Board and EPC, comprised of the
Plant Manager of each User Company.
The CBT Lab expansion / interior
renovations project began in late April 2001. CSC/TC General Manager
attended the Houston Business Roundtable 14th Safety Award Banquet at
Moody Gardens, Galveston, TX. Our area User Companies recognized many of
our member contractors for outstanding safety performance during the past
year.
The
year concluded with CSC/ TC planning our 2nd Annual Golf Tournament /
Membership Meeting. A golf tournament of thirty-six (36) teams was
scheduled to participate in the event scheduled for June 28, 2001.
